black ghost knife tail bitten

Can I use kanaplex on a black ghost knife with a bitten tail.
Just checking since I know they have no scales?
Any recommendations I have in a quarantine tank now.

Is the bite clean then I’d hold off. If not u can add the kanamycin. Can do full dose but if worries then do 1/2 dose now and the other half in 6 hours. Monitor.

Yes it's a clean bite but it looks like it's starting to fungus a little and he has 2 small white little wounds on his side.
Will the tail eventually grow back to normal?
I know they rely on there tail for navigation purposes.

I shipped the fish across country so the tiny white wounds I'm thinking could be slight ammonia burn.

Ok. Would just add a little salt and water changes if it’s a bit of white on the edge. Make sure it eats and should recover. Can still add the kanamycin.

This is one of the knife fishes with the small wound one on each side of the body.
I called seachem and they said Kanaplex is cool with scale less fish but start with a half dose to test them then instead of 3 doses do 4 doses.

It depends how far the tail was bitten off. Personally had this happen and the BGK tail did not grow back.
