very reclusive, always hiding until the food comes out. mine is always hiding. but ive seen at least 5 ppl's setups that include both fish but others heed me warnings.....

I'm a firm believer of not mixing Knives. Asians and Africans are okay, but you have to keep an eye on them, but not South American Knives because of their electrical pulses.

so your saying itd be ok to have an asian knifefish and an african knife together? looks they have the same dietary needs, cept the asian gets a little bigger. know if it grows very fast, ill probably be upgrading in about a year and a half.

Pretty much I meant that having 2 CKs, 2 RCKs, group of N. Notopterus, or 2 C. Lopis as far as Asian species and a group of ABK or 2 P. Afer would be okay (sometimes). Kind of separate but okay to keep within their species.

whats the P. Afer.? can they be kept with african browns? i mean would i be able to do an asian knifefish and a african brown.

Papyrocranus Afer is an African speices that are pretty aggressive and very nocturnal. I wouldn't mix Asians and Africans, but I'm sure some people have had some success with this. I've come to the realization that when people tell you not to mix fish, it's because of the general knowledge and probability of success, but there are those that have succeeded. You can try it out, but make sure you have a Plan B.
