Black Ghost knife

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
They normally grow to about 15 inches (sometimes more like in Miles' case (his is 18 in)). That would require at least a 55 gallon tank.

BKN's are fairly slow growing fish. Ours seems to love bloodworms above all else. We picked ours up in a tank deal over a year ago at about a foot long and in that time it's grown about 2" in length or so. we have him in a 60 gallon tank at the moment and he seems quite comfortable.

My BGK about 9 inchs now - almost a year old in a 72 gal bowfront.

He eats frozen bloodworm - his fav, other assorted frozen cubes like beef heart, flake food, and he really loves the sinking wafers I try to give to my Cory's.

He just discovered them recently and it is fun to watch the race/chase between him and the 4 Cory cats. He has shown zero aggression towards any of the other fish in the tank, but he is like a steamroller when it comes to feeding time....he doesn't bite, he just rolls on through - in true BGK fashion - usually backwards.

They grow really slow. I gave mine up cuz it just remain the same size for 3 months (at least it looked like it). But a 55g-75g would do just fine. Bloodworms are like crack for any Knife fish.
