My experience with BBA is if you're trying to get rid of it out of a large tank you need to remove all decor, scald/boil and then scrub it, or bleach it. I had quite a fair bit in my 140 and triple dosed Flourish Excel for a couple of weeks (that's a lot of Excel!) and it definitely removed a lot of it, but because of my old tank arrangement it would turn red (a sign it's dying), fall off, float around, and then eventually reattach, even though I was vacuuming every few days (you can't get it all).
I took everything out of my tank, nuked the tank with just sand with a normal dose of Flourish Excel, scalded and scrubbed everything that I took out, and introduced 3 Siamese Algae Eaters.
They quickly dealt with what was left, and I have what I believe to be small parts of BBA around certain areas, particularly my spraybars which I imagine my small SAE's can't eat properly, but other than that algae is down. I do weekly 30% waterchanges and keep my water pristine; I'm presuming I'm getting the algae from the source.
