Black imported ray development over the past 3 weeks

it appears to be a cut off piece of net! haha. I assume this ray got it's stinger caught in a net.. I had to do the same years ago
So.. this hybrid is a confirmed 'Runt' lol! I've had him since late December! and he has only grown maybe an inch or so! I tried isolating him for the past 2 months so I could power feed him but aside from getting a little thicker.. he has not shown any signs of growing.. he is now back with the GP in the 750 gallon fb tub. Should I delicate a tank for him?
you should let him spread those traits on to one of your other ugly blackies

I too have the odd ray that never seems to grow but feeds well and has good body weight. I'm starting to wonder if the longer we keep and breed our rays in captivity the smaller they are becoming? Like with dogs, if you select the smaller ones and breed from them, over time you will breed a smaller dog.
Food for thought perhaps.
