Sorry to hear man :( Also I wouldn't trust auto feeders, I've heard of people purchasing them because they cannot be around to feed their fish and it either disperses too much or too little food...(just saying) & your fish should be fine if you feed them every other day, because in the wild there are some days where fish do have to go without food.

yeah i know. The RTC is hearty and can probably go a month with out food. I just got the auto feeder so he wouldnt get hungry to the point where he would want to eat the BGK.

Im suprised there is no "monster feeder". I think i would need about 10 of the small ones for my soon to be 400 gal.
 
Im more upset with the fact he wont be compatable with other smaller fish more then the lost of the BGK. If the BGK died of poor conditions I would be pissed at myself. I just thought i got lucky and had the 1st communial RTC

Though some may say a BGK housed with a RTC is poor conditions:(, so maybe i should be a lil pissed at myself

hopefully. I met someone on craigslist who buys storage lots once they been abandoned. He cracked a side when removing it. So Im having a buddy from a custom aquarium shop near me check it out. The guy listed it 500$ but said 250$ if i picked it up. So if the repairs are with in reason Im goin to buy it. With pumps, heaters and a D.I.Y. stand Im hoping to stay with in the 1200$ range.

My RTC is already front to back in my 100 gallon after 5 mnths!!!!!
 
I thought my RTC cost alot. But in perspective my purebreed shepard cost 3500$ easily within the first year. Only difference is the Shepard contributes to my life and job, the RTC just eats

It was when I was 18. She cost 1800$ to buy, 600$ in shots and first year vet visits, 400$ in food, leashes, and cages, 300$ in damage, 300$ in training........it adds up

I bought her because I lived in a bad neighborhood and we buy houses on forclosure. She has saved me more then once and is by far the best money I ever spent.
