Black Longnose Tang

ok since this is your thread and you asked for more details of my tank i wont feel like iam hijacking your thread

regal angel

is actually a blue/grey belly, was at my lfs(5hour round trip drive), it was fat,healthy and EATING at the lfs in which it was there for about a month before i bought it the week before christmas, it will only eat algae sheets(any kind) and any kind of prepared frozen foods, it will not touch grocery store seafood of any kind, nor will it try pellets or flakes of any kind, it is the 1st fish to the food when i feed, infact when i start thawing the food it waits at the spot i feed at. and its in the 75g reef with a couple of colt corals(ie the nick name mini reef) a pair of pink skunk clowns, a royal gramma, a purple dartfish a blue damsel, a tiger cowrie snail, a coral banded shrimp and a fire shrimp and un known number of hermit crabs and bristle worms, also in with the yellow tang that will also be going to the 210g with its buddy the regal angel.(the yellow was to tiny when i got him that he was not thriving in the 210 so i moved him to the 75g until he gained some size

and i cant forget my sump fish, a killer lunnar wrasse who killed a 8" clown trigger and a 4" redtooth trigger

No better LFS's within 5 hours of you?!? Dedication my friend.

That sounds like a lot to care for...more than I could handle. You must be crazy going for another tank :)!!

The 7 ft. tank really has me impressed mixing all those tangs including mixing Zebrasomas and Acanthurus with a couple real aggressive ones(normally) in the Purple and Clown. Have you noticed any overt aggression since adding the last 2 tangs?

Proly a good thing you took out the Lunar wrasse, he would have keep killing. The clown trigger probably would have killed everything else in time though.
 
closer fish store... yes we have 2 one i wouldnt spend 1 penny in the parking meter to visit the worthless store, the second one is prety good but extreemly overpriced(caters to oil execs, jet jockies, docotrs, laweyrs, judges ect), and the one i drive to is a BETTER store with reasonable prices and my mom lives in the town so the grandkids get to visit grandma when i go fish store shopping

a lot to care for..not really iam retired so i got all day on my hands while the kidos are at school and the wife is at work

mixing tangs
you know i have had very little agression with mixing tangs and my sailfin is at least 8 years old(i had him for about 7 years and he was an adult rescue when i got him).

now the night i added the powder blue/clown tangs the purple went some what balastic towards ALL his tank mates, i blacked out the tank with sheets and the next afternoon all was fine and no signs of any phisical damage to anybody and nobody hiding..but iam done with the 7ft infact i want to get a 10ft for the clown and naso, the clown is only 2 inches so i have a day or 2, believe it or not the powder blue and clown tangs took up caves right next door to each other


i would love to do a drawf angel harem only tank of multiple types of drawf angels but i dont think thats gonna happen unless i win the lottery to buy a bigger house iam already pushed the envelope with the wife/tank space especially with the concidering a 10 footer at the moment for some of my tangs i may be living in the storage shed with the 10 footer as it is

Gotcha, well it works out well that your parents are there.

I really like the idea of completely blacking out the tank so they can't go after each other. I will definitely be adopting that.

A 10 foot tank would be awesome for the bigger fish for sure.

Sounds like you have a good thing going, I need to find a wife that works while I take care of my fish. Ha.

I am pushing now, but pictures!!!! If you can I am sure everyone would enjoy them.
