The black gar refused to eat frozen fish!!! So after over two weeks of trying, I finally gave up... for now at least. Once I fatten the gar up for a week on live, I will try again! DNA results came in... this gar is indeed a Melanistic gar but it doesn't hold the xanthic gene that I was hoping for. Some fish will hold both genes.
