IN YOUR HEAD
it may have been asked before, but i didn't see it in my search. i don't understand how to get a refined search so i got tons of freash water responses. anyway i have 60lbs of it and i have seen in in salt tanks at lfs' but i haven't really seen it outside of that. would it work or is the salt to corrosive for it since it is sillica.

I have never actually seen it in a marine set-up. It just looks too out of place. I would stick with the "tried and true" sands

i really liked how my golby looked on it when i got it. it makes the colors stand out. out of place or not i just want to see if it will hold up in a salt tank or slowly break down. i have aggragate now, but i want a change. just don't now if i want the white sand that every salt tank has, as i like to be different. i may just try it and see what happens.

You can already see the slime that is growing on this guys sand.

My last friend to do this did weekly h2o changes of a little over 50% on his 20g tank.

He could never keep up with the diatoms that this substrate continuously produced.

Good luck if you go this route, and let me know what happens.

I used it on a nano awhile back and never had an issue with algae. But the sand got really dirty fast and just looked horrible after awhile so I got rid of it

i did try it and i'll keep ya updated. it looks nice now, but we'll see. i have a yellowhead sleeper golby and 3 scooters that keep the bottom moving around.
