You said that he was more active when the lights were out. Ever think about getting a moon light for the tank to help transition him to his new home and get more comfortable? In return he might become less stressed and return to his normal color.

I've heard of discus turning black = bad but never heard of other fish doing this. Weird. But nice pima. Would love to have a huge enough tank for some of those.

What's funny is that I know many members has a pima but do not want to share photos because of the size tank they are kept in. Guess they don't want to hear the constant reminders of how big of a tank is needed to house these guys....
same go for datniods, the color will turn back soon. pima do better in pairs of 3-4. when you have them by themself, they tend to turn dark and like to hide.
