Black nasty questions considering a pair

He's asking about the 150.... there's one with a 48"x24" footprint and one with a 72"x18" footprint. I would say safe to assume they were in the 72x18 footprint. I've got 3 young ones growing out right now (between 2-3") and I'm pretty sure they're all 3 males. They have yet to be territorial with each other yet but I'm sure in the coming months it will happen. Everything I've read on them is that once a pair is formed they breed like convicts. Just do as others say and keep them in warm clean water while giving them a mainly veggie based diet while young. Beautiful fish, I used to own a sub-adult male and sold him when I had a hiatus from the hobby for a bit. Wish I would have kept him.

Sorry for the confusion. I was just looking at a 150 gallon but it was only 4ft long but 24 in deep I'm not sure how tall but pretty tall. Or was it the 150 that's 72" long but only 18" deep. Basically I'm wondering if 18" is deep enough for a male since they get 16"

I don't think 16" is the norm on males... while it can happen id say 14" would be more common. I think a 150 would be suitable for a pair for life, but I'd say a 180 would be ideal after several years.

And my last question if I decided on just one male fish what would be his tank requirements

150 tall I have one. They are 48 long X 24 front to back X 30 tall

Bro you're lucky. These young ones that I have are complete a-holes towards each other. My obvious male and female take turns terrorizing the rest. I'm not even sure if they're a true pair. Right now they just seem to be he most dominant of each sex. I have another male that's actually a good size. I'm contemplating snatching it out and growing it out in a different tank but I know I won't have space for it

I was wondering how long it would be before Andy's name was dropped!
Lol. He definitely has some beautiful nasties!
Andy sold me on the species. I actually just got done showing my family his videos!!!!! They didn't realize how beastly a full grown Nasty is. I didn't realize you're from NC. I'm in Charlotte you wanna grab my other grow outs?!?!
