Black or dark FL gar

i think thats a young trop or gator but we need better pics in order to tell for sure
edit: just saw the new pics, that is a melanistic florida.
 
so your saying if they have two rows of teeth, they are gators?

All gars have two rows of teeth but the gator gars teeth are more pronounced. other species like the florida have one row of large teeth and one row of small teeth. A lot of time it just looks like a rough line behind the teeth.

This gar only 5 inc so I can't tell his teeth (My camera can't do that :cry:)
but his parents are Florida gar

BTW what the reason all of u say she/he is melanistic florida, is it because the slime or the gar photo?
