Black or natural sand for Geo RedHeads?

How big are they right now?

They are between 3-4".

If they have just been added to the tank, they need time to settle in and color up. This will have to take place no matter what color substrate you select. IME you should go with with a natural color sand if you want the colors to pop. I have kept them in a black background tank and still managed to have amazing colors (check my albums for pics)

Ive had these guys since July, theyve settled down pretty well. Great photos, gave me many ideas!




I think I will end up going with natural, I have it in all my tanks already, I thought I would like a change, expecially since I am hoping to get some gold/red severum in that tank as well... but I think I natural will be the way to go.
