Black over silver

All arowanas can get drop eye even jardinis it's just that silvers get it much easier than the rest. That being said blacks are awesome fish but good luck finding one nowadays

I like the black arowana better. Specially when they're young. Love the colors on the body and the eyes!

Ive got two silvers and two blacks all in the 28-30" range. IMO blacks are well worth the money. Start with a baby black next spring, but first do your research so you are prepared.

Blacks and silvers are very similar, just like platinum and tinfoil.....


Agree that the blacks are 100% worth the extra cash, far nicer looking fish when big, and far less likely to develop problems like DE and PLJ. The cost difference is minimal when spread over the life of the fish and when compared to the cost of housing/feeding/maintaining such a large fish, TBH I don't know why so many people buy silvers. Each to their own I guess...
