black piranha - Feeding and Lighting suggestions

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
oh i forgot. mice are really bad food. i know your fish wont be able to eat them for quite a while but instead of all the time or once a week just dont. piranha can not digest hair and you could potentialy mess him up. best to just not do it. its just as cool watching them tear apart fish. just get a larger fish, like one of those annoying bubble eye creations... i hate those fish.

Yeah i don't really like those bubble eye fishes... Thanks for the knowledge.

I set up my small rhom (3.5") with a few bridges that give it shade and seem to make it feel more secure. he really likes shrimp and I cut it into pieces that he can eat all at once.

Hello!
Here's my opinion: as usually, in every Pet-Shop they have for sale so called "black piranhas". But... NOT ALL OF'EM ARE REALLY TRUE BLACK PIRANHAS!!!
Could be a Spilo, or could be a Rhom. Once, a pet-shop owner told me about a piranha that was a... "white piranha"!!! Just because the fish was lighter and has just 1.5". Actually, was a baby Spilo!
Anyway, avoid live food. Most of the fishes got worms or other parasites. I use to feed my Spilor with shrims, (defrost) fish, octopus and beef heart. They are healthy and look great.
This is just an advice...

Regards
