Black Piranha question

Hi. I'm planning to get some wild 8 cm. Black Piranhas(Serrasalmus Rhombeus) based on what I have read they do better in solo tanks. Let's say I get 6 of these guys, can't I really put them all together in one tank? Thanks in advance.

But how come everytime I search it on google it turns up as black piranha....confused.

Yes, like they said, the Serrasalmus is a solitary species and only in the wild would they shoal. Either way, having one would be tight all by itself.

Thanks guys, so what do you suggest for the tank size?

A 29g could house a solitary 3" rhom for several years. 55g could house it for 6-8 years.

rhom = black piranha

its a common name for rhoms, there are many variants of rhoms however....highback, peruvian black, etc.....gets a little confusing

Kido - they are known as sloow growers. So get a bigger one if you can.
BTW - Ps are not exactly legal in PI are they?
