OK, thank you much everyone for the help on this decision. I'm going to go with a 5" Black Rhom Piranha. I have found one on aquascapeonline.com for $125. Has anyone ever bought a fish from this website? I'm a bit nervous about buying a fish online, but I don't know any local shops that sell this particular breed. And is that a pretty good price? One again, any help, greatly appreciated
 
i also have used them and the fish came in right when they said it would. fish was healthy and eating after 6 hours. was packed good.
 
Yes, they are very reliable when it comes to shipping fish. My order came with heat packs and was packaged well. They have a pretty decent selection too.
 
If you give him a call I'm almost sure you could get a little bigger one for the same price or maybe $20-25 more, just trying to help you may what to start small...
 
excellent, im glad to hear that there are still some good dealers on this earth and everyone on the internet's not a scumbag, very nice. I will be ordering in the next couple of weeks. Ill be sure to take pictures so you guys can check the bad-boy out. My girlfriend is a graphic designer so expect a pretty rediculous tank. I can't wait and thank you so much for everyones help! I look forward to discussing the madness that im sure is to come...
 
Good luck with your rhom and don't expect him/her to be mean and all that right away I see so many fanciers that want these beautifull fish to be murderus mindless animals then when it doesn't live up to there sick exspectations then they want to sell it, keeping these kind of fish is a dediaction and raising a rhom takes time make sure it is what you want and have fun......
 
Jesus BigShawn, were you a fish in a previous life? I don't have any "sick expectations" brother, just a fun fish that I can take care of and have fun with. I know what I'm getting into with piranah, like I said, I used to own 5. Thank you very much for your help, but maybe don't be so quick to assume I'm a sadistic maniac looking for blood...
