Black piranha

Hey guys need some help with something. I bought a black piranha about 6 months ago as a baby. Not sure exactly what kind it is. But i know they are very shy fish is there anything I should do to help him not be so shy? Any thoughts would help. Also if you can help me identtify what kind exactly he is? Thanks guys

They tend to be very shy, especially if you give them the room and habitat to hide.
The ones I have at the store are very social to humans. I don't have much for them to hind behind, other than the filter.

Im not a fan of P's skiddish little things. My fire clown likes to fight my hand when I clean the salt tank. The p tank i had going they would all fly to the othr side....

He will grow out of it. What size tank you have and how long have you had it? When I Got mine he hid for a bit so I let him get comfortable, after a month I took out everything he cold hide behind left the lights dim for a week, next thing I know he was chaing me ll over the room.

You could try using black water extract. It's worked for people w/ piranhas.
