I bought 2 3" blacks once. They both were put in the same size tanks and both in the same temperature water. They both were aggressive the first week. Then one mellowed out. The other one remained extremely aggressive. It really has alot to do with the personality of the fish, much like the temperment of each human is different because of personality.
