So I was thinking about getting a Blk Rhom.
I know there is a lot of info on here.
My question how ever is where is the best place online to purchase one and what tank size do I need to grow him/her out and how fast before I'd have to buy permante home.... I have a 60gal sitting and wonder if it would be ok for about 6 months if not than let me know... As I wouldn't buy a fish knowing I can't house it... Thanks any other info is greatly appreciated as always with MFK I'm sure I will get really good info...

Rhoms grow very slow and a 60g would be good for a while assuming you dont buy one huge. Shark aquarium and aquascape have quite a selection although I wasnt impressed with the rhom I got from aquascape. For almost 700 I thought it would be in better shape when I got it but oh well I guess. Noone else had the selection of big rhoms they did

I'm looking for a juvie so I can watch him grow... 700.00 man that's one heck of a fish... Didn't know they were up there... But I guess you pay for what you want... Right..lol
Are the juvie hard to keep? How would you rate them hardy wise... Like a EBJD? Or closer to RBP's and I know one per tank or one will have a expensive meal

Just different collection points and color strains. They usually have lot more than 3 kinds on hand. Really any of the serra species are slow growers and yes for almost 700 you get a pretty big rhom but the price skyrockets on bigger ones quickly

What's the care for one as far as like high mortality rate or no different than RB P's..

generally speaking piranhas are very hardy. if you do the basic things and keep water parameters in check and you won't run into any issues, unless the fish was somehow ill from the beginning when you got it.
