Nickel size serras can be a hit or miss. I had a baby and everything was perfect for over a month, eating well, water perfect, no other fish and one day I came home and he was floating.... it sucked.

But yea a 60g is fine for a few years and IMO growing out a fish is much more rewarding, seeing them go thru all their phases is awesome! Plus when their that small it could be a mystery Serra!

I got mine about 6 years ago at just over an inch. He is just now outgrowing a 55gal. It is about 7-8 inches. Very hardy fish, mine is anyhow. I have gravel and some rocks. I wish it was bare bottom now though. Nightcrawlers are a pretty easy food if you dont have to worry about them digging into the gravel and rotting.
They have really good eyesight, perhaps even better then Oscars, Mine watches my one dog almost constantly if she is in the room.
