Here's the growth rate from mine I got it sometime before November 13,2006(don't remember the month or day) at 2" now tonight it is about 5-6".

Not a bad growth rate they do seem to grow quicker for the first 6inches of their life.

grew my xingu from 4.5 to 7 inch in about 8 months.
like allready stated they eat a few times a day at a small size and seem to reachh 6-7 inchs without a problem in 18 months

once he hits 7 inch it like some-one stopped time,here is where the real patience begins,not many Ps owners make it after a year or so and sell up and buy a bigger one!

Serrasalmus species seem to grow quicky within the first year. Once they hit6-7" they will grow very slow. 1" per year...keeping serrasalmus have to be patient.

Unlike pyog, pygo grow extremely fast with in the first year. But will continue keep growing every 1" for every 3month with proper care.

He is my project fish. My first and only piranha. I like that he isn't red, but yellow.

nice rhom! I don;t have the paitence, so we went right for a 13"er. I would love the challenge of growing one from a baby though. He has nice colors!

I want to grow out a rhom....I have the patience for it, or at least I'm willing to accept the fact that it's going to take a while to get to where it's going. lol
