hello I would like to keep a spiny eel but one that gets a decent size I found the black spotted eel and really like it I plan to grow it out in my 75g and then add it to my 125g is this a big enough tank for this eel? thank you!
If I’m right, I think they get around 18-20” I think a 125 is completely fine. A 20” eel isn’t the same as a 20” cichlidhello I would like to keep a spiny eel but one that gets a decent size I found the black spotted eel and really like it I plan to grow it out in my 75g and then add it to my 125g is this a big enough tank for this eel? thank you!
That’s the more uncommon giant, the average is around 20”.J Joshuakahan okthebiggerthebetter had some that hit 30" but I think that is the size of tank he had them in or some other factor is that still fine? it takes a very long time though for them to reach that
Even 30” I think would be fine tho, eels aren’t usually stretched to full length and active, they usually curl up somewhat near or under something, I think you’re goodJ Joshuakahan okthebiggerthebetter had some that hit 30" but I think that is the size of tank he had them in or some other factor is that still fine? it takes a very long time though for them to reach that
I think they’re pretty slow growers but I’d say probably until it’s 15-17” would be ok, after 18” it’s gonna be longer than the tank is widehow long do you think it could live in the 75g what size?
I have seen a 4’ snowflake morey in 75 and it was perfectly fine being curled up in the rock work with just his head sticking out, but I don’t think it’s the best situation to have a fish longer than the width of the tankhow long do you think it could live in the 75g what size?
