Black tail paraya? ever heard of it??

i am having trouble distinguishing this fish from a scomb. Could someone point out the differences?

It looks exactly like a Redtail but lacks the red tail.

If you have had Tats and Scombs I'm sure you can tell the difference in body shape......

well, a couple of quick distinguishing marks to notice when comparing scombs and tats are that the black marks on the gill plates are more half moon shapes, and on the scombs it's a circle. Another is that scombs are black at the base where the pectoral fins meet the body, tats don't.

The scombs tailfin is usually smaller than that of the tat.

Scombs' heads are turned up more, their tails are dark at the base and are clear at the edge, tats are lighter colored at the base and dark at the edge, tat's also have pointed edges to their tails, scombs are round.

IMO its really easy to tell scombs from redtails.
just look at each of their pics and you'll see the differences immediately.

Its nothing to those of us who have kept and know them but others who arent as familiar with their differences need to know what to look for.

thats why i said just look at a pic of a scomb and one of a redtail and its easy to tell the difference.
