Go to Petsmart or something and buy the black background. Get some Seaview and use it. http://www.seaviewinfo.com/

You can use a piece of black cloth or fabric. It can be taped to the back or pinned to the wall. I would use a material that is synthetic. It wouldn't fade that easy. Pond underlayment would be a good choice and it is cheap.
