What is the ideal substrate for Black throat monitors?
I have done alot of reading and research on them, and there really isn't a set substrate for them.. I have heard backyard dirt is ideal for digging, burrowing, and even breaks down bacteria from waste. But also heard it was bad cause it carries disease, and if they cut themselves the dirt can cause infections.. then heard to use sand, as it is good for keeping heat in, but read that it can eventually kill the monitor..
So what is an ideal substrate for a black throat monitor?
I was thinking big ole wood chips, or backyard dirt..
