I was told that black arowanas are smaller then silvers, and others said they are the same size. They just have difrent colored fins. I am so confused on the subject. I am eventully getting a 180 and am trying to do research so i can have all my ducks in a row. Any help would be great. Thank you

john

Blacks have a slightly thinner body than a silver, and as far as I know can get just as long.
I've also heard they have a slower growth rate once they hit a foot or so.

don't forget the silvers available are prone to drop-eye and perhaps pop-eye while blacks aren't

Black aro's are very nice looking!!

Blacks are rare to find now a days. Black do get droop eye but not as often as silvers.

black seem to grow much slower than silvers and thats why you dont see any 25"+ thick bodied blacks like you do silvers so much in pics.
