Black water extract

well i havent noticed any difference in behavior because i've used it since i got them. I can say that they are not as shy as i expected, and they started eating the day after i got them. Cant really say the black water extract had anything to do with it...but it def. didnt hurt. pics tonight

you can create "darker" water with your plants and driftwood etc. I have never found the need for the dark water extract, just another useless expense

atizknock, I just set up my 135 gal and I am leaning toward going murky with it. I have read that peat is a good, natural way to add tannins. And cheaper than BWE. I haven't done it yet but that's the suggestion from veteran p keepers, peat.
