Black Widow Spiders May Have Met Their Match

Hello; Some thiryy five years ago I moved into a rental house in Harlan Co. KY and found a black widow in the basement between the floor joists in a web with egg sack.
I moved to south east Tn two years ago and have so far found two adult females. One was on a towel I had hung over the back of a chair on the porch that I sat in when taking a break from the sun while working on the house. I noticed the dark spot on the white towel before using it to wipe sweat from my head and neck. This is the only one I have ever found not in a nest.
I found the second in a nest under the lid of a water meter box in the front yard.
Now that I know what to look for , will keep an eye out for the brown type, they may not be here yet.
