Blackbelt Cichlid

pretty sure he forgot the decimal.

I say BB are a 100G+ tank fish as they and other occupants need the room to get away from ea other. Ive had mild tempered to full out slaughters. Still a very beautiful fish though.

The blackbelt is in a show tank. I've really fallen in love with the blackbelt ( I've even named him Rex ). Everytime I go to the fish shop I stand in front of their really huge aquarium and stare at Rex for like 10 minutes. He puts a BIG on my face when he swims over to me to say hi. I think Rex has gotten use to seeing me ( cause everytime someone else walks over to the aquarium he just stares at them, BUT when I walk up to the aquarium he follows me and swims in my direction ). It's like he knows I will be his new owner soon, just have to wait till June 9th when I get the $$$$$$$$$$$

Good luck on that black belt, I think they are great looking fish when larger myself. They sell bb's around me for 6$ at 3-4" but they are bland, the lfs also has a 7" bb for like 25$ he looks much nicer. If I had the tank space I'd probably pick him up, I do enjoy getting fish as juvi's n watch em grow though.

if you feel lucky and have a big enough tank do a vieja sp tank. that might be my next tank project.

Buy a couple for a few buck and grow your own, much more gratifying....

Starrfish had a really nice one...but it was a handful when housed w/ less agressive fish (Chocolate , Severum, etc.) of the same size. Only her big cats would stand up to him....& only if food was present. Pretty fish, tho. Hers was up to abouty 8-9" and very colorful.

I wouldn't pay more than 20-30 bucks for one that size, in the States.
