All Carcharhinus includes a LOT of sharks: Whites, Oceanic white tip, Black tip, Black tip reef, Bulls, Whalers, Bronze, Silky, Grey reef, Carribean reef, Silver tip, Sandbar (brown), etc.....

Wonder what the idea behind this is.

Are there *any* freshwater sharks of the carcharhinus order? Other than a bull shark?

Cali has had that law for years now. I believe it was put into place by people that dont do the research.

Odd how the law states carcharinus as freshwater....it doesn't specifically say only freshwater variants of that genus, it almost looks like it's saying that carcharinus means freshwater. That's just....weird. Heck, if it's all species in that genus then it would include the following:

Blacknose shark, Carcharhinus acronotus

Silvertip shark, Carcharhinus albimarginatus

Bignose shark, Carcharhinus altimus

Graceful shark, Carcharhinus amblyrhynchoides

Grey reef shark, Carcharhinus amblyrhynchos

Pigeye shark, Carcharhinus amboinensis

Borneo shark, Carcharhinus borneensis

Copper shark, Carcharhinus brachyurus

Spinner shark, Carcharhinus brevipinna

Nervous shark, Carcharhinus cautus

Whitecheek shark, Carcharhinus dussumieri

Silky shark, Carcharhinus falciformis

Creek whaler, Carcharhinus fitzroyensis

Galapagos shark, Carcharhinus galapagensis

Pondicherry shark, Carcharhinus hemiodon

Finetooth shark, Carcharhinus isodon

Smoothtooth blacktip shark, Carcharhinus leiodon

Bull shark, Carcharhinus leucas

Blacktip shark, Carcharhinus limbatus

Oceanic whitetip shark, Carcharhinus longimanus

Hardnose shark, Carcharhinus macloti

Blacktip reef shark, Carcharhinus melanopterus

Dusky shark, Carcharhinus obscurus

Caribbean reef shark, Carcharhinus perezi

Sandbar shark, Carcharhinus plumbeus

Smalltail shark, Carcharhinus porosus

Blackspot shark, Carcharhinus sealei

Night shark, Carcharhinus signatus

Spottail shark, Carcharhinus sorrah

Australian blacktip shark, Carcharhinus tilstoni

bahh, Republic of California....:irked:

I know FL and TX coastal regs, not too familiar with CA stuff. I'd suggest calling them and seeing what they had to say.

i have tried many times to contact them but they are so hard to get ahold of and i get them same answers. You need a permit to bring them into california but they are not issueing them for aquarium trade. I know that other people are bringing them into california and other states i just dont know how.
