The tannis from the leaves is soothing to the fish and also the leaves leach some other nutrient's that benifit them. Sort of natures vitamin's in the wild. My red tail giant gourami has redened up to a really really deep red too. for the price they were totally worth it if this is actually wht helped him/them.
