Carbon will remove it, and just about everything else. I use discus trace elements in my arowana tanks. I noticed one of my large blacks and two of my large juropari geophagus developing hole in the head a few years ago and treid a million different ways to fix it. What I found was south american tanks do better with lots of biological filtration and no carbon at all. It actually cleans the water to much and deprives sensitve fish of essential minerals and vitamins which leads to hole in head. If you have to use something use seachems purigen, its a miracle product that you never have to replace.

Is that true what you said about the carbon. And does it effect Jardini's in the same way? What is this seachems pruigen. I only ask because I have two mech. filters that I fill with carbon and then I have three power heads for underground and two bio wheels.
