Maybe it's just your english but this post doesn't make very much sense at all.

Erm... bottom line is I'm pissed with the tank leaking & it's only 1 year +
..

sometimes i've noticed that HOB (hang on back) filters will leak if the O ring is getting stiff. you should be able to tell by looking at the motor and where the power cord comes out of it. if there is a water present or very slow dripping i'd replace that O ring on the motor.

Mine uses a powerhead that connects to a top filter..

Yeah, I've my fingers crossed.. however my family disapprove my suggestion of upgrading...
