keep up the good work but if your disabled fish dies suddenly dont take it too hard. I´ve heard of people with disadvantaged fish that they are caring for and they just die. I suppose blindness isnt too much of an issue as long as you feed him and keep a good eye on him.

I currently have a partially paralysed fish who is getting slightly more movement each day but I wouldnt be suprised if he died.

Great Story hope he lives a long life.

Well a bit of a sad update this morning :(

I noticed lastnight that he wasn't searching for food along the bottom of the tank like he usually does. I tried hand feeding him blood worms(his favorite!) and he refused them. I woke up this morning to find him stuck to the filter intake :( I'm sad he didn't live but I am happy that I at least tried to save him. There will always be room in my tanks for a disable fish, call me crazy if you want :nilly:

Cuban cichlids are great to have, I currently have one in my 125 gallon and the Cuban gets along great with my 7 inch Jack Dempsey. It does suck that your blind Cuban died, it would of been interesting to see the Cuban at least 6 inches or more.

They ripped out the eyes for the same reason inmates do if u stare someone in the eyes its disrespectful.looking in the eyes is asking to fight .sorry fyl u are a great person who tried to do a great thing
