blk aro with datnoids?

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
a 4in aro is significantly smaller then a 6in aro. ive had both with 2-3in indo's at different times.

Yep, growing it out solitary until at least 6" is always best. I never kept dats, so not sure how aggressive they are, but may be better to grow the aro to 10-11".

A Datnoid can more than hold it's own against a 4" Blacky.

The concern is for the arowana, not the dat. Small arowana are easily bullied by most any fish of the same length.

Ah, misinterpreted the statement. I was wondering why anyone would worry about the safety of the Dats with a 4" Blacky. My apologies! I agree with that! Small arowanas, especially the Silvers and Blacks are extremely fragile. My Silver recently got it's entire tail chewed off by another fish. Not too sure if it's the Dats, Bichirs or the Pacus. I suspect it's the latter.
