Cleveland, Oh.
My female S. fryeri has swelling around her anus, which I know is a sign of bloat. She's still eating, and doesn't have any other swelling of the body, so I'm not sure. Is this bloat, or could she be suffering from something else, and if so what could it be?

When I dealt with it, it was more of the whole body "bloating".

That's what everything I've seen has said too. She doesn't even seem stressed. She's still begging for food, playing in the filter's current, and basically acting normal.

Are you absolutely sure it is her anal hole? I do know the reproductive hole swells when my mbuna are getting ready to reproduce. Matbe she is getting broody!:naughty:  :headbang2 :nilly:

I did recently introduce a male Protomelos sp. "Taiwan Reef". I wonder if that got her hormones going.
