Hi Dr Charney,

I did actually cut her open after the photo and there was nothing inside her, the jelly mass was very large, the same colour as the orange tab that says "post reply" below where you type. in all 3 cases they ballooned up over 3 -4 days after giving birth before finally dying.

Good to have a Stingray medical man on here, I see you have a Uaru fernandezyepezi in your avatar, do you keep rays?

This is a pup of mine may not be same issue but it blew up and back end would want to float. Did not make it.

She's still about the same tonight. On the back wall of tank pretty bloated. Added some salt just for the hell of it.

Very sorry to hear. I don't know anything in regards to medical treatment but i know Castor oil induces labor fast with humans could this be an option? She would have to ingest it. Could it make her give birth?

Hi That Uaru is one of my two which I think are a pair or they are just very anti social fish and hate all others. I currently have a marble motoro. UnstoppableJayD and jettefrances17 are friends of mine and have large stingray collections that I help with if needed.

I wonder if that jelly mess is what was left of reabsorbed pups.

I don't know about stingrays but castor oil is very toxic to a lot of animals so be careful with this.

Maybe completely different and may be related to the pregnancy but remember 4 years ago or so when i had my p14 swell up huge? They ended up pulling through but it took a while. I prazi and kept doing water-changes and finally healed. Not sure if the prazi is what helped or something else

The dead one was a male and would have been a stunner. She still kinda stressed but I think she'll make it. (Mother). Here's a couple shots. Thanks again Guys!

that's a bummer jim but at least the mom is probably out of the woods and going to be fine..that male would have been something!
