Not sure, I did not think to ask. My other common eats veggies so I thought this one would to. All I have seen him eat since I have had him is Shrimp pellets.

He did have a poo about 7" long the other day.
I've fed my plecos shrimp pellets 90% of the time since 1990. Never had one bloat.

It seems he's been overfed or in a tank too small. Since he IS eating shrimp pellets, I'd only fed him about every 2-3 days (another words a diet).

The creepy thing is that picture actually reminds me of my Donny. :(

Oh, crap! Epsom salt bath now! And Prazi-pro full dose! Also soak his peas in Prazi if you are trying the fiber-load approach. I'd advise against any food with that degree of distention, though.

He's pretty extreme. Try both and you might save him.
You know how to give him the bath? Use tank water in a separate (never seen soap) container, add 5 tbsp. per gallon and immerse the fish until he shows discomfort. Sometimes the fish will roll over from the salinity. If he does, get him back to the home tank. You won't need to acclimate because you are using the same water in both places except for the salt. Just plop him in and out by hand. And don't use nets! Barehand is best for plecos most of the time.

I done have any aquarium salt and what is Prazi Pro and where can I get it? He wont eat anything now and just swims around.

No, not aquarium salt. Epsom salt. Like for old people.

Prazi-Pro or any general anti-parasitic is worth a shot.

Don't be worried about food right now. Get those worms/constipation out before anything else.

Asparagus is great for putting on size fast. It is an easily absorbed source of energy for fish.

Ok I am not sure if I have any of that as well. I have some medicated food for internal parasites but I don't think he will eat it.

Would normal salt do anything?

He was in a 180g and is now in a 300g.

Make sure it is kosher or pure salt, no additives of any kind. Don't add it to the main tank, but try the bath first. Also, bump the temp in the main tank about four degrees, but not above 86ºF if it would exceed that. What else is in there that might add to the complexity of the situation?

I only have table salt with iodine, I am going to have to try and get some. What do you mean add to the complexity?

oh jeez. i didnt think it was THAT bloated..

I agree with the salt.... it should help.. but that almost looks as if it ate a huge weight..

Hope it recovers soon..
