Bloated pristella tetra

Girlfriend noticed this swollen fish this morning thinking it was pregnant. I’m thinking dropsy? Nothing added to the tank in over a month. First issue in this tank I can remember, 75 gallon with an fx6 doing filtration. I just did a large water change filter cleaning Friday. Tankmates all seem to be having normally. Anything I can do to help this little guy/gal?

Give a couple of days and see if swelling goes down. My female Rummy Nose will look like that for a couple of days until they spawn and release eggs.

If no change then I would say the tetra would be egg bound.

I could be wrong but isnt that one a male? If it is female id guess eggs also. If it is male id say pull it out and put it in a qt tank with Epsom salts.

On second look I think tlindsey is right it does look female, I was thinking of a different tetra where the colors are closer just the tail and fins are red in the males.
