My bp just laid a bunch of eggs on this rock and my texas is swimming over em with something sticking out. They are together in a divided 55... What do i do? Who do i seperate? Who do i remove? Ahhh!! what do i do!!! Ill look around in the meantime, thank you vm

So i believe ive come up with leaving both parents with the eggs and fry and removing other fish so they dont eat the fry, is that right?

Yeah, cool since you're in Central Cali I'd like some babies. If its divided then you're cool. And yes let them raise the babies.

Lemme know about the frys thanx

Your Texas is fertilizing them... do you plan on keeping the fry? (If so, I'd def take one or two :))
If you do want them, then taking the slate that the eggs are on out and putting them in a spare 10 gallon will ensure they won't get eaten. Or on the other half of your 55 if it is empty, as long as your divider is solid, and not like egg crate or anything the fry can get through.
You could do nothing and leave the eggs with the parents, but they might end up eating them.

As long as the eggs are a tan color, then that means they are fertilized.

The eggs are gray but were laid like an hour ago.....? When do they turn tan?

Eggs are usually tan, brown, or greyish. But not milkiy white. If anything just let them try again a couple weeks. Like I said before this hobby requires a LOT of patience.

Most are gray, i see several that are distinctly white....idk..... I guess give it a day or two and see what they look like then.......

I would rather see Ester from Sanford and Sons.
