Rather than???

Also, many have turned white, maybe close to half.

At least half of the eggs are definitely milky white, another quarter are still the same grey as they started, but in the rest there is definitely lil somethings in there that are not white, they are really small eggs tho.... Is that normal for some to fertilize and some to turn white?

Yes, it happens regularly and more will turn white on the first attempt usually.

Thanks GM,
Just got back from a job left at 7 and it seems the fry have grown since then, this is pretty cool im excited, awesome to see they grow so fast, so is it possible that all the eggs could turn and die? Even the ones with babies?

They can but its highly unlikely. I havnt bred many egg layers but I'm getting back into it again and not sure of what to start breeding.

Thanks man thats awesome
This was a total accident but those reds i researched up look amazing!
I appreciate the answers thank you

Many have hatched and are fluttering on the bottom of their own 20 gallon. Some died though. Damn they are small, i put a wrap around a 60 gal filter but it stirred the water too much? Is that bad, dont want them getting banged up or sucked up against the mesh, so i took out a small ten gallon filter. Idk??? Can i use the big filter?

I've got a batch of 23 SRTs from these same fish, although my Texas is a Cyano, not a Carpintis. They'll stay the same color as the Texas until about 1". After that, they should peel into a bright orange, if you're lucky. Could produce some high quality SRTs, or they could be low grade. I left mine in with the BRP and she hasn't bothered them at all. They all live in their own 55, while I moved the Tex to a different tank. I recommend feeding Hikari Cichlid Gold mini pellets. Good luck!

I have this wrapped around the intake of a small filter

Will that be ok?

But i want to use this filter except the water movement seems to be too much even wrapped with nylon??
