The Black Coloring on his Fin's........Good or Bad.:nilly:

Size-5 inches

He's fine. There are several reasons. The main reason is that a parrot will, on ocassions, show some spotty black with no real conformity due to stress. The stress can be caused by new enviro, water quality, other fish stressin him. He will return to his normal coloring once the condition has alleviated itself. Perfectly normal for the parrot.

Thanks for the response, and yes, he's only been in my tank for about a week or so...............

Check your ammonia, sometimes dark sploches are a sign of ammonia burn and that is the healing process. That being said, I also have BP's and they seem to get them after water variables change rapidly.

Mine had some black after a tank change.
He has since returned to all orange

Some just have a discoloration. I have one all orange with a black stripe on his tail. Reminds me of Jay Leno. Mine also change color all the time depending on their moods.
