Blood Parrot \ Convict hybrid?

I thought parrot/convicts are called jellybean parrots. I've seen them for sale once in awhile. You'd probably get more helpful info on the hybrid section.

I myself don't like blood parrots and the petsmart in my area is ok sometime.

True parrot cichlids are from south america ... Hoplarchus psittacus.

Around here, fake parrot (aka blood parrots) x convict crosses are common and sold as jellybean convicts.

My main beef with them though is the little cards describing the fish. They have stuff on them that says 20 gallon minimum for an oscar and other total garbage.

I know what you mean. About a month ago I was in a pet shop called animated that at that time were selling clown knives. The info card said:
Size:100cm
Tank:100 litres
Isnt a 100L tank around 100cm long?

There is a good fish shop called hollywood fish farm though. When I was just getting into fishkeeping they wouldnt sell me fish the day I got my tank and today on of the clerks was not selling people fish because they wouldn't go with their current and new fish. They really know thier stuff.

i've seen blood parrot x flowerhorn hyrbrid, they weren't too pretty haha.
haven't seen blood parrot x convict hybrids yet though.

No these literally looked like a blood parrot but with convict marking. Had some convict traits I suppose too, but the shape was definitely blood parrot.

old post i see, but i bought one from petsmart, they lose the coloring and stripes after a few weeks, its just a normal blood parrot, they all look different when they're young, and turn color as they get older.
