My Blood Parrot & Pink Convict are a mated pair and I want to keep the eggs.
They layed them on a lava rock, so I will take that out as soon as she is done laying and the Convict finishes fertilizing them. I plan on moving the rock to a 30 Gallon spare tank with a sponge over the end of the filter. My question is, I can just move them and they will hatch? If so, how long will that take? What should I feed them once they hatch?

This is their first batch of eggs, and I am watching them carefully so they won't eat them. I have zero experience with breeding fish. Any advice would be appreciated.

Search how to care for fry.

Since the male is the convict they will hatch assuming he did his job. 4 days to hatch at 76-78F, 3 days 82-86F. If you are moving the eggs make sure you that at least 75% of the tanks water is from the tank the eggs were hatched in so you don't kill the eggs.

Best to just leave the eggs alone, let them learn to care for the eggs and young.

i would just leave the eggs in. if they eat them this time, you'll have next time (soon).

Well, they aren't the only fish in the tank. But there isn't any fish in with them that would make them feel unsafe enough to eat their eggs. She has been laying them for hours now, still going. The Convict hasn't fertilized any of them that I can tell, yet. Hopefully he will though.

He probably wont if its been 1 hour. Way it works is the female lays and the male follows right after each 10-20 eggs laid, and over again. Not 1 hour later.
