Blood parrot x trimac

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
I am pretty sure that is defs not a trimac. To pearly and too many flowers. I would start off by asking where he gets them and how he knows they are trimac just to see what he says. And then go from there. And tell him that you're asking because you received a "trimac" from him and it turns out that it is not.

^^ thank you, I was trying to think of how to approach the place since his reputation seems good and i'm not an expert.i'll fire off an email to the place and see what response I get

Do an id thread of him in ca sa subforum, firstly.

they respond fast here is a copy n paste from the email I just got. not sure how to screen shot and erase personal info but I can forward it to you since your a mod and you can see it if you want
what i emailed -
hello, was wondering where do you get your trimac's from and how you are certain they are trimac's ? I'm searching for a high grade true trimac and want to be sure I don't end up with a flowerhorn. thank you for your time.

their response-
Unfortunately we have discontinued breeding our trimacs for now. We did not have enough of a demand for them to continue utilizing the space it requires for growing them etc We are very careful when selecting our breeding stock from collectors, imports etc to ensure we have true strains so I appreciate your effort. If Mike decides to set them up again we will update our website with their availability so please check back in a few months to see if anything has changed. Thank you,

So, in short, they are letting you know they had no trimacs.....:(

And you purchased it on the info it was a Trimac.

It is up to you, now, to decide what to do. Do they have any species you would prefer to have, tell them you want to change, and see what they say.

I asked them as if im looking to buy now to see the response vs questioning about the fish I already had from them. I have had him for 6-7 months and they had 2 back then when I picked him up, they give you a tour of the place when you pick up and answer questions with no hesitation. maybe they got sold bunk trimacs and bred them ??? no idea

Yeah.after so many months, enjoy the fish and forget the hassle, is my opinion.

that pooped on my dreams of bp/trimac fry, now I guess I have fh/bp fry lol, well hopefully I get some that have the parrot shape and his colors

here is one of the little guys that can free swim, still have a bunch squirming around around the tank but more of them are starting to free swim.
