on blood parrots whats the difference in the ovipositor(breeding tube)? i get that if it comes to more of a point its male and stays fat if female, but my parrot's seems to also tilt back and is about a centimeter long. is it male? it looks kind of pointy but is the tilt a sign of anything special?

id tell you why its tube was out but you guys wouldnt believe me without pics and since im grounded and i use my friends camera i cant exactly do that...

thanks for any info :)

I find it pretty tough to sex BPs until they're ready to spawn, lol. I just saw a female lay eggs a few days ago, and her ovipositor was HUGE. Now that she's settled down, it looks exactly like a male's. I've also found that fin shape has no credibility at all in sexing them. A few of my females have pointier fins than some males.

I can take a picture of some of my known males/females if you like.

id like that. my parrot is breeding, but id rather not say what its with until i can take pics and start a new thread about it. we also have a pair at the store i work at that had been defending a cave so i figured this would be relevant to that too.
