  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
Thanks i'll have to try that. I got some frozen shrimp today and tried putting some in the tank. The cichlids pick at it for a second, then loose intrest. This is day two and no eaten fish yet.

Iam not familar with Parrots but I have found keep your cray well feed and they wont bother with fish. I have 2 in my cichlid tank and a monster in my community tank. He eats fish food but I feed him vegs everday this seems to fill him up. However I dont keep any bottom feeders evcept plecos. They are tough and will knock the crays out of the way.If you would like to know more pm me Pat

Well Mr. Lobster is no more. The mbunas ate him for a mid-night snack. My guess is that he was molting, because I hadent seem him come out for the last few days. Any how lesson learned on that, no crays/lobsters in the mbuna tank. I feel so sorry for the little guy, he was doing so well for the last three weeks(thats when he went in).

Hats off to you little blue buddy...

blood parrots are not that good at biting things like other cichlids. i would say get a cheap crawfish and see how it goes and then get the blue one. unless the cost doesn't matter then I would say go for it. my crawfish lives in my tank with my convict, midas and green terror and he is doing fine.

like said above, make sure it has somewhere to hide and the fish will weed out the stupid ones.

Dont feed the crayfish live shrimp. It can be deadly for them. If they get sick then they die. there is no remedy It should do well with cichlids until they get big enough to do some damage then just stick it a ten gallon and it will do fine it doesnt even need a heater mine is with a smaller JD JAG and Firemouth right now and there are no problems

dang now you got me thinking i want another cray, its been a few months. my wife is not going to be happy.
