bloodworms

wait also is it maybe a brand I usually switch them daily with spirulina and krill pellets but I like to give them a variety though just now trying out the frozen thing

i dont feed bloodworms to my african mbuna's. i feed them NLS pellets, veggies like zucchini, yellow squash and cucumber (that has been sliced, frozen and rubberbanded to a rock and sank in the tank), krill pellets, spirulina pellets (there is a seller on ebay that sells great food), something called African Attack, and as a treat i dissolved frozen brine shrimp or veggie mix pellets.. they love it

Great list there navygirl76! I like the rubber band idea! I've tried zucchini/cucumbers, but they float! lol I use one of those clips with a suction cup for romaine lettuce.

One not mentioned is shelled frozen peas... My fish love them!

Variety is great, but the dietary needs are what is the most important. Different lakes and fish, dif. types of food needed.

thanks Gator! you guys really need to know that in order for your fish to like eating those veggies you need to slice them up and freeze them. it lyses (bursts) the cell walls of the plant material in the veggie-making it soft once you put it in water. some ppl blanch (you boil a pot of water, then drop the veggies or romaine lettuce in for a few seconds-it does the same thing).
i rubber band a few slices to a rock and just drop it in the tank. works every time.

Why not weigh them down with a fork or spoon?
