Let me put it another way, I prefer them to eat whatever they want and enjoy life rather than force them on something just to make them look pretty for my satisfaction. Won't do anything if it's really UNHEALTHY, but so long as it's healthy enough for it to still grow and stuff, then I'd prefer that.

Thats right buddy...because like us out here in world, we never know when we're gonna die. Have fun with the hobby, be relaxed...there is no right or wrong way. What I enjoyed most about the experience of fishkeeping is learning on my own and experimenting. I've read a few books and magazines and we learn a lot of technical info from MFK but I dont want to be ANAL about it. Im not saying start feeding them potato chips though, but have fun.

..lol, if you ever need any extensive information, ask RD. he knows what hes talking about most of the time.

Have fun, it's a hobby. But yes, no potato chips.

The OP asked a simple enough question, most people that have been in this hobby for a while realize why feeding an exclusive diet of BW's is not going to provide a proper balance of nutrients to a fish.

Stating that doesn't equate to anyone being ANAL, or that one can't have fun in this hobby. :screwy:

A distinction should be made between hobbies involving live animals, and those that don't.

I can't imagine any decent person would deny the notion that there are certain responsibilities that come with live animals. Those are lives, no matter how insignificant they may seem.

The OP asked a valid and important question. Some responses offering insights might be a bit hash but nothing over the line. Those who encourage others to do whatever they "like", particularly those who know full well what should be done, should find another hobby. Pottery, among many others, sounds like a good option.

If you just want to go with just one food feed NLS exclusively. This stuuf is the best. Check out their website and see for yourself. I have been doing this for 5 years and the rsults speak for themselves.
